We have just started a study about a state of the environmental business at Southern Ostro Botnia. That “we†I mean the company LC Logistics Center Ltd, in which I am also working.
In the province there are the 710 companies of the metal field, 112 of these in Kauhajoki region and 410 in Seinäjoki region (the source: company register).
We are looking for the companies which produce for example the production equipment of the clean energy. We are also looking for manufacturers of the recycling equipment and sorting equipment of waste. These both manufactures also are found from here, on Kauhajoki region.
We are also charting technology companies who are interested in clean technolgy in the future.
It will be a big advantage that some technology companies here already have the know-how from the delivery of big international projects.
This could be utilised in the deliveries of environmental projects. There will be big markets for environmental business especially in China, India and Russia.
During the study we will create networks to the experts of the cleantech sector in Finland. In Finland the cleantech know-how is already significantly found in Oulu, Lahti, Kuopio, Helsinki. Vaasa is the centre of expertise in energy technologies.
The study is financed by the Union of South Ostrobothnia. The study will be completed at the end of the year 2009. So, I will blog more about this later. I hope, that we wil have something interesting to tell.
