At our technology center there are often seminars or meetings in which Power Point is always used. PowerPoint is a quite good presentation format but often the presentations are just too full of stuff and I almost fall asleep. I have looked for the new methods to present, so called “PowerPoint killers”. I found from Hungary the Prezi, the zooming presentation editor which I have used successfully. www.prezi.com.
Last week I heard for the first time about the Japanese Innovation: Pecha Kucha-Format, (or 20*20 method). The innovation, dubbed pecha-kucha (Japanese for “chatter”), applies a simple set of rules to presentations: exactly 20 slides displayed for 20 seconds each. That’s it. Say what you need to say in six minutes and 40 seconds of exquisitely matched words and images. Here the idea is that 20 slides which are programmed to change at intervals of 20 seconds are a presentation basis. There should be room for a presentation in these; the presentation time becomes 6 minutes and 40 seconds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pecha_Kucha
We test this method, at the opening of Logistia-Institute on 1th of February @ Logistia. Our partners in cooperation present their own presentations using this Pecha Kucha. If they can do it, I will do it.
